A teenager died Tuesday morning after crashing his car on I-94 in Jackson County.
It happened at about 4:40 a.m on eastbound I-94 near Mt. Hope Road. Michigan State Police say the 19 year old Jackson County man lost control of his car and hit the median barrier. He then got out of the car and was struck by a passing vehicle.
The driver of the second car stopped and immediately called 911. Two passing drivers, including an off-duty police officer, stopped to render first aid until paramedics arrived. The man was taken to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital and pronounced dead.
No one else was injured in the crash. Police say drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors.
