Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old.
It happened before 3:47 p.m. in the 900 block of Branch St in the city of Ionia.
Police say a 17-year-old and the 16-year-old were involved in an altercation. During the altercation the 16-year-old was fatally stabbed in the neck.
Both individuals are male, and both are from the City of Ionia.
The 17-year-old was taken into custody at the scene, and treated for minjor injuries at Sparrow-Ionia Hospital.
Formal charges are expected.
