An 18-year-old man is recovering on Tuesday after taking a gunshot wound to the chest on Monday night.
It happened in the 1000 block of Pigeon Street in Jackson around 7 PM.
The shooting took place outside a home and the suspect took off after the shooting. Police say the argument was over a girl.
Witnesses say that during the fight the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired at the victim at least three times.
Police say the victim, who later turned up at a local hospital, was hit in the chest and had a grazing wound to his side.
No arrests have been made.
