A Jackson County teenager who admitted he tried to kill his grandmother is set to learn his fate Wednesday.
18-year-old Bret Goodnuff is scheduled to be sentenced at 9 a.m. in Jackson County Circuit Court Judge John McBain's courtroom.
Goodnuff pleaded guilty to one count of assault with intent to murder before he supposed to go on trial last month.
Goodnuff admitted to attacking his grandmother with a baseball bat in October 2017 at their Rives Township home during an argument over a cell phone.
Assault with intent to murder is punishable by up to life in prison.
