Teen accused of beating Grandma with baseball bat pleads guilty

JACKSON, Mich. (WSYM) - A Jackson County teenager accused of beating his grandmother with a baseball bat has pleaded guilty to assault with intent to murder.

Bret Goodnuff, 18, faces up to life in prison.

Authorities say Goodnuff assaulted his grandmother with a baseball bat on October 4, 2017 at her Rives Township home. The 58 year old victim told police that Goodnuff hit her in the head, torso and arms during an argument over a cell phone.

Goodnuff was arrested by deputies while riding his bicycle along I-94 in Calhoun County after the altercation.
