LANSING, Mich. — The state legislature just approved a technical fix to the auto insurance reform plan.
The requirement that increases auto liability coverage for bodily injury was unintentionally written to take effect immediately.
The legislature approved an amendment to prevent that.
The Senate Majority Leader says if this wasn't done, people would have seen an increase in auto insurance costs on Tuesday.
Changes in rates are being phased in through July 2020.
