LANSING, Mich. — While Michigan lawmakers are on a two-week recess, teachers from across the state rallied at the Capitol for more funding.
It was part two of the #RedforEd rally that started last Tuesday.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer once again spoke at the rally, calling on legislators to approve a budget that funds both roads and schools.
"It is time you had a budget that prioritized you because I've got news for the people in this building. Everyone says they love Michigan, but you do not love Michigan if you don't love the children of Michigan," said Governor Whitmer.
