LANSING, Mich. — Businesses are well within their rights to have a dress code.
But one woman in Stockbridge went to police over the way a tattoo parlor enforced its rules.
Caylee Watt has been getting a lot of attention since she posted about her trip to Olde Tyme Tattoo Co. on Facebook.
She says she just wants people to know this is not the way to treat a customer.
"I was there to get artwork done, I obviously appreciated his artwork wanted him to do more for me, I don't think it's right to treat people like that," said Watt.
Caylee Watt says not only did she get pushed out, but the employee also called her names.
"I need to watch the way I dress. I'm a slut, I'm a mom. I should know better,"said Watt.
"I was kind of just shocked at that point and really hurt."
FOX 47 News reached out to the tattoo parlor and the owner Mikeal told us Watt was asked to leave several times because she was overly exposed.
"I was just wearing shorts and crop top it was really hot that day," said Watt.
Mikael says children sometimes come into the shop so he didn't want to have a customer showing that much skin.
Watt says she agreed to leave after she was given a refund, but she got something else instead.
"She literally came charging at me, grabbed me by the shoulders slams me against the door, I have a bruise on this elbow from it," said Watt.
"Once I was outside the door, she gave me a nice shove and then she locked the door. And Immediately and I called the cops from there."
News 10 reached out to the police and they could not comment on the situation because the investigation is still open.
Watt hopes a message was sent.
"She needs some sort of discipline, I hope."
