SUV crashes into Fowlerville restaurant

It was a typical Tuesday night at the Fowlerville Farms restaurant.

"Well we were just cooking, it was a pretty busy night," says Charlie Ulanski.

That was until a car crashed through the wall.

"I was getting ready to bring up some dishes, and as I was getting ready to do that I just heard one of the waitresses start screaming," exclaims Ulanski. "And then the whole building just kind of started shaking, I thought the building was coming down... heard the waitress screaming and we just heard a loud noise and then our cook windows right there, I could see the car come up and I come through the doors make sure the waitress was okay."

She was, but it took Ulanski a moment to realize exactly what happened.

"You know I was so into cooking the food, I went to flip the burgers and I was like wait what am I doing? So I stopped doing that, called 911, and took everything off the grill."

He says thankfully no one was injured, which has given them a bit of a sense of humor about it.

"We could all, even the customers after they were done helping, started smiling and laughing," says Ulanski.

He says the driver meant to hit the brake in the parking lot, but instead she hit the gas. Which one waitress says forced the restaurant to open a drive thru they never thought they'd have.

"We keep saying it's closed now and no parking in our building, but it's a joke," smiles Emily Roll, a waitress.

Ulanski says the driver told him her family plans on coming back soon, but he hopes they'll use the door next time.
