Suspect tries to flush cloned credit cards down toilet

Three suspects were arrested after police responded to a credit faud compaint. Police say one of the suspects punched and kicked officers, and tried to escape by attempting to kick out rear window to a patrol car.

Deputies with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office repsonded to the 115 Truck Stop in Marengo Township around 3 a.m. Sunday for the fraud complaint. When deputies arrived, the suspects already left the area, but were located a few minutes later at Love’s Truck Stop near Marshall.

When Marshall police officers entered the parking area, one of the suspects went into the restroom and attempted to flush cloned credit cards down the toilet, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies recovered thousands of dollars worth of alcohol, cigarettes and clothing that had been purchased in lower Michigan and northern Indiana.

Deputies arrested a 27 and 20-year-old, both males from Redford, Mich.A 26-year-old woman from Redford was detained and later released pending investigation, the office says.

During the incident, one of the male suspects attempted to escape by kicking out the rear window of the patrol car, causing damage to the interior door. The sheriff’s office also reports the suspect was restrained after punching and kicking several officers.
