EATON COUNTY, Mich. — The case against a man accused in the stabbing death of another man in Eaton County is now on hold.
A preliminary hearing for 29-year-old Joseph Sadlak was set for Dec. 20, but the hearing was canceled as Sadlak was ordered to undergo a competency evaluation.
Sadlak is charged with open murder in the death of Clinton Decker.
Decker was found stabbed to death inside his home on East Grand Ledge Highway in Oneida Township on December 9th.
Investigators say Decker and Sadlak were friends.
Sadlak faces up to life in prison if convicted.
A competency hearing is set for some time in February.
