Ingham County prosecutors have charged a suspect in the shooting at Lansing's Pattengill Academy last Friday. Kahlil Jamal Withers-Fleming was arraigned Monday on one felony count of carrying a concealed weapon and a high misdemeanor count of careless discharge causing injury.

Police were called to the school just after 4:30pm Friday. Witnesses reported seeing a black SUV leaving the area after the shooting. Police then got a tip that the victim was dropped off at a hospital in a black SUV. The girl was in the backseat of the SUV. Investigators say her parents and Withers-Fleming were also in it. The gunshot that wounded her came from inside the SUV. The girl is expected to recover.

Withers-Fleming is due back in 54-A District Court on November 17 for a probable cause hearing. He has a preliminary exam scheduled for November 22. News 10 and wilx.com will keep you updated on this case.
