LANSING, Mich. — The Clinton County Sheriff's office has announced that the manhunt for a fugitive in the area is over.

They have apprehended the man without incident with the efforts of St Johns Police, Bath Township Police and Clinton County Central Dispatch.

At approximately 9:23 a.m. the Sheriff's office attempted to stop the man who was driving erratically on Business 27 near Railroad Street in St. Johns.

Once pulled over, the man jumped out of the car and took off, according to deputies.

They say that he was a 41-year-old male who is a wanted fugitive from Texas, living in Holland, Michigan.

To be safe, Gateway Elementary School was on lock down.

The Principal, Mike Winkel, said in an email to parents, "The students are safe and are not aware of the situation. They are going about a normal day in the building."

He added that he would reach out to families once they have an all clear.
