The U.S. government is predicting that gas prices will be 14 percent higher this summer than they were last summer.

The increase in global oil prices are being blamed for higher gas prices.

Brent Crude costs more than 71 dollars per barrel.

That's the highest prices in over three years.

The average price for a gallon of gas across the country is currently $2.66.

The price hikes raise the average to about $2.74.
