Successful numbers from drug takeback program released

Over the last 8 months, over 1300 pounds of medication has been collected in Ingham County through a partnership with the Ingham County Sheriff's office and other local law enforcement departments.

Dating from March 2018 to November, 1392 lbs. of medication has been accumulated through the Medication Take Back program.

The following groups have reported 73 containers weighing 1392 pounds:
Ingham County Sheriff’s Office 28 containers weighing 595 lbs. 
Stockbridge 2 containers weighing 30 lbs.
East Lansing 17 containers weighting 255 lbs.
Williamston 4 containers weighting 85 lbs.
Mason 16 containers weighting 292 lbs.
MSU 4 containers weighting 90 lbs
LTPD 2 containers weighting 45 lbs.

The Sheriff's office wants to acknowledge the community that took part in the program and assisted police in keeping drugs off the streets or in the hands of minors.

If you have pills that you'd like to safely dispose of, you can drop them off at the Sheriff's Office pill receptacle in the law enforcement lobby which is open Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 PM.
