EAST LANSING, Mich. (WSYM)-- Michigan State University students were not surprised to hear a football player was accused of sexual assault, but they were surprised by the charge being filed.
"Especially with athletes, like it's hard because they're obviously important. They do a lot for the university. I'm kinda surprised, but I think it's a good step," Stephanie Major said.
Sophomore defensive end Auston Robertson has not been arraigned. The investigation is not related to another sexual assault case involving three other spartan football players, but Ben Larson was disappointed to hear about all of it.
"Sad to see that there's always sexual assault cases going around ,especially with football programs and the whole sporting world. I definitely don't want to see Michigan State going through this," Larson said.
