People across Michigan recognized Music Education Advocacy Day on Tuesday March 20th.
Elementary school students from across the state celebrated at the State Capitol.
Lawmakers and various music associations invited second graders from Farmington Hills to perform with their instruments. Democratic State Representative Christine Greig of Farmington Hills said, "Music is really important, and there's a lot of brain development that goes on as well too and so we know that that extra learning of music actually enhances learning in other areas as well."
This is the fourth year music education is being celebrated at Michigan's state capitol.
