Former Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings began his one year jail sentence Friday.
Dunnings had until 6 p.m. to turn himself in.
He was processed at the Ingham County Jail and will serve time at the Clinton County Jail for safety.
Dunnings pleaded guilty to misconduct of a public official and using the services of a prostitute in August.
In exchange, prosecutors dropped a felony pandering charge where Dunnings could of served 20 years in prison.
In addition to jail time, Dunnings will also be on probation for three years.
