LANSING, Mich. — Livingston County sheriff's deputies caught a two-foot-long alligator Tuesday morning in Oceola Township. A woman reported the gator crossed in front of her vehicle as she was driving home from work around 4:20am. Deputies found it a few feet off the road and captured it without anyone getting hurt. The alligator was handed over to Livingston County Animal Control.

Anyone who wants to claim the gator needs to call Christy Peterson at Livingston County Animal Control at (517) 546-2154 before noon on Thursday, August 1. It will be given to the Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary in Athens, Michigan if it's not claimed by then.
