The state is having a hard enough time keeping Chronic Wasting Disease from spreading among Michigan's deer.
And things could get even worse-- if someone brings it in from out of state.

That's why the "Department of Natural Resources" has been keeping a close eye on the border lately.

It caught people trying to bring five deer carcasses in from Illinois and one from Wisconsin. The deer were taken to the state's wildlife disease lab in East Lansing, where they'll be tested for CWD and then incinerated.

The five suspects could get 90 days in jail and a 500-dollar fine.
