LANSING, Mich. — A few new businesses are making their way to south Lansing.

Stock + Field opened their doors Thursday and is located in the same complex as Five Below and down the street Panera Bread.

All hoping to be a big draw to the community.

"We do carry several products that are farm, lawn garden related. We're huge for apparel so not just south Lansing the whole city and surrounding areas I expect to come into south Lansing more, hopefully we can draw them in," said Steve Cope the Stock + Field Store Manager.

Fox 47 also spoke to another employee that lives in the area who says he is looking forward to watching the community grow.

"I'm just excited for all these businesses especially, us opening because it brings more money to our community it just makes the market flourish," Supreem Pearce.

One customer says it will give more opportunity for people who live around here.

"More jobs there is a concentration of a lot of people on this side of town so it's definitely convenient for them as well," said Carrie Christiane.

The South Lansing Business Association says they hope they hope the new businesses will encourage more people to come to south Lansing.

"The fact that we've got the ball rolling with more businesses coming, I think you will tend to see them kind of that domino effect or snow ball effect where more and more want to come," says Heather Cooper Kim.

Stock + Field will be open on Thursday until 9 p.m.

Their grand opening will be Friday, Sept. 13.
