LANSING, Mich. — Starting Monday, July 15, the Lansing Board of Water and Light (BWL) will close one lane on North Capitol Avenue at West Shiawassee Street in Lansing.

The city says turns from West Shiawassee Street onto North Capitol Avenue will also be restricted.

Crews with the BWL will be removing a deteriorating steam vault, and perform repairs on a steam main.

This closure will remain in place for approximately two weeks.

The crosswalk of North Capitol Avenue on the south side of West Shiawassee Street will be closed, but all other crosswalks will remain open.

Pedestrians can expect to be directed around the work zone.

Access to local area homes and businesses adjacent to the work areas will be maintained during the project.

Drivers are advised to expect delays and to seek alternate routes.
