On July 31, 2018 the Ingham County Board of Commissioners voted to terminate Ingham County Animal Control Director John Dinon. Deputy Director Anne Burns has chosen to retire effective July 30.
Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth has assigned a Sergeant to act as interim Animal Control Director effective Monday, August 6, until an interim director can be appointed by the Board of Commissioners. Customer Service and Community Outreach Manager Kate Turner will act as Director until that time, and will then act as Deputy Director until further notice. At this time the shelter continues to move forward with all planned community services, outreach events, and adoption programs.
The Board of Commissioners is in the process of assembling a Search Committee to select a new Animal Control Director.
