Compared to last week, the statewide average price for gas has gone up four more cents.
This is according to AAA who said last week's average was also 46 cents higher than this time last year.
The state wide average is currently $2.49 per gallon with the Traverse City area having the cheapest gas and the Ann Arbor area with the most expensive.
Michigan currently has the 14th most expensive gas in the country.
Demand for gas is likely to increase for Labor Day, leading to a likely, but brief, price hike as drivers hit the road one last time before fall begins.
