LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel's office has come to a nearly $40,000 settlement with a car rental company in Metro Detroit.
The Attorney General's office began investigating Executive Car Rental in November 2018 after receiving several complaints from Michigan and out-of-state customers.
A statement from the Attorney General's office says, "The settlement agreement made public today resolves the department's investigation into the company's apparent violations of the state's Consumer Protection Act, including several complaints related to damage deposits of $250 or more that were allegedly not returned timely."
The settlement money will reimburse 55 customers.
A portion will help pay for the investigation, and some will go to the Better Business Bureau.
