Hundreds of state employees gathered in downtown Lansing Wednesday morning at 400 South Pine Street to peacefully protest a proposal from the Michigan Civil Service Commission.
They are against the proposal made by the Personnel Director, Jan Winters that could take away important job protections if passed, such as overtime pay, grievances, and seniority. This proposal could affect more than 35 thousand state employees like nurses, construction workers, even politicians.
Protestors have been rallying for hours and are now awaiting the decision of this proposal which is set to take place today.
As soon as we learn what that decision may be, we will continue to keep you updated on our website.
