Standoff in Lansing over; man arrested

LANSING, Mich. — What started as a domestic dispute escalated into a standoff situation with Lansing police.

At 8:50 Wednesday morning the couple left the home peacefully after negotiating with police.

At 4:30 a.m. police responded to a domestic dispute at a home on the 600 block of Seymour Ave. near Lapeer St.

When the couple walked out of the home they were ushered to a police vehicle.

28-year-old man was arrested for obstructing and resisting.

22-year-old woman was not arrested.

Police are questioning her because they consider this matter an assault.

Police confirmed the two individuals are in a relationship and are currently searching the house.

There were no known weapons on the couple when they exited the home.

A two-block perimeter around the home remains closed to traffic.

The situation does not involve LCC and will not effect campus, according to reports.
