LANSING, Mich. — The 27th annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive took place on Saturday, May 11, 2019. The sun was shining as postal workers and volunteers collected non-perishable food donations from mid-Michigan residents. Once again, the community came together to support those at risk of going hungry, and the incredible results are in. A total of over 177,000 pounds of food was collected and will provide over 147,000 meals to those facing hunger in our community.

Known as the largest single-day food drive of the year, it is a critical time for donations. Food collected in the springtime will ensure that the food bank’s warehouse is stocked and prepared to serve children who will lose access to school meals during the summer months as well as many others at risk of going hungry.

The greater Lansing Food Bank shared the following "On behalf of Greater Lansing Food Bank, and those who will benefit from this day of giving, we thank our partners, volunteers and generous community for their support in making the food drive a tremendous success. Together, we will be able to provide meals for our friends and neighbors in need, making us one step closer to a hunger-free community."
