Stabbing victim collapses trying to get help at nearby road

An altercation between two groups of people in Meridian Township ended with one being stabbed.

A witness in the 1500 block of Pike Road called police after noticing a fight break out around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

The fight continued to escalate and that's when police say the victim was stabbed. Police did not say what type of weapon.

The victim, identified as a male, got on a bicycle and attempted to travel west on Pike Street towards Marsh Road.

After trying to get help, the victim collapsed in the middle of Marsh Road. Police say he was not hit by a vehicle.

The victim has been taken to a nearby hospital. His condition is not known at this time.

Officers were not able to recover a weapon at the scene.

Officers were seen early Monday morning searching a portion of Lake Lansing Park South.

No information was released regarding a possible suspect(s).

Meridian Township Police continue their investigation.
