LANSING, Mich. — The MSU Spartans are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 7-6 season last year--and that starts with the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.
The Spartans have won 20-straight home openers that is the fifth longest active streak in the country.
The streak is expected to be extended in Friday night's game against Tulsa. Tulsa finished last year's season with a 3-9 record and they have not won a road game since 2016.
After a close call against Utah State in their opener last year, the Spartans know to take every opponent seriously.
"You can't prepare for anyone differently You can't prepare for Tulsa any different than any other team like Ohio State or other big ten teams you'll play. That way you avoid playing down to your competition so to say," Defensive-back David Dowell said.
The game will be the first-ever meeting between Tulsa and the Spartans.
