LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan State Spartans have a big, national TV game this Saturday against Arizona State.
The Spartans and Sun Devils kick off at 4 p.m. and if MSU can get the win, it'll be a history-making evening for Spartan head coach Mark Dantonio.
Dantonio is one win away from becoming the all-time winningest coach in Spartan history. Dantonio is tied with Duffy Daugherty with 109 wins in East Lansing, and Saturday could be the day Dantonio takes over the number one spot.
Regardless of what happens, Dantonio did say East Lansing has been a special place for him and his family.
"There's never been any point where I've even considered another position. It's been one of those places that's been unique to myself and my family. It gave my girls an opportunity to grow up and finish their high school and college careers here, which I think is so important sometimes in a coaches life," Dantonio said.
The Spartans are 2-0 so far this season.
This is Dantonio's 13th season leading the Spartan football team.
