Sparrow unveils a new mobile health clinic

LANSING, Mich. — Sparrow Hospital unveiled a new mobile health clinic on Thursday.

The mobile health clinic program allows the hospital to expand its basic health services throughout mid-Michigan.

This mobile clinic, which is housed in a bus, was entirely donor supported.

The new vehicle includes exam rooms, a waiting area, additional testing equipment.

The effort is a combined partnership between Sparrow, the Ingham County Health Department, and Dean Transportation.

In the past few years, the Mobile Health Clinic has provided free basic health services to residents in need in Ingham County.

Many of the patients served by the mobile clinic had gone without those health service for years.

Sparrow hopes to serve thee entire mid-Michigan region.

The hospital says to promote the mobile clinic it will work with area health departments and neighborhood centers

It will also build on its strong relationship with the Ingham County Health Department.

The ongoing operations of the Mobile Health program will be funded by proceeds from the 2018 Dapper Dads event.

That event was hosted by Sparrow Foundation Women Working Wonders.
