Peace and quiet are all moms and their babies want. With a newborn, doctors and nurses tend to fly in and out of their hospital room more times than they can count.
That is why Sparrow hospital now has "quiet time" in the mother-baby unit.
It's from 1-3pm, and during this time hallway lights are dimmed, no visitors are allowed, and non-urgent hospital procedures are minimized.
"It makes it more enjoyable for the mom and the newborn," said Desiree Knepp, who just gave birth to her son Maxton.
"She doesn't have to worry about feeding we are concentrating on just worrying about the kid," said Maxton's father.
Sparrow started this daily quiet time last month. It's the first hospital in the region to implement the move.
