CHARLOTTE, Mich. — Men don’t often like to discuss their pelvic health but on the heels of Men’s Health Awareness Month a Sparrow Eaton Hospital expert is doing just that.
Physical Therapist Miranda Moncada-Sullivan, PT, DPT, recently completed training in male pelvic health and constipation/bowel dysfunction. Her services can help Patients experiencing constipation, diarrhea (without medical cause), pelvic pain, erectile dysfunction, and more.
“I think pelvic health is often overlooked but is such an essential part of our lives and in so many ways tied to our identify and confidence,” Moncada-Sullivan said. “Most people with pelvic pain – especially males – often fight for their discomfort to be recognized or legitimized because awareness is so limited.”
Moncada-Sullivan, who lives in DeWitt, is a graduate of Central Michigan University, where she received a doctorate in physical therapy. She joined EMPOWER, which encompasses Sparrow Eaton’s rehabilitation services at AL!VE, a health park dedicated to transform, empower, and enhance residents’ well-being.
For more information, Patients should speak to their physician about a referral. A free community lecture will be held on the topic in May 2020. Visit myalive.com for details.
