MDOT has announced that the construction of the soundwall along US-127 in Lansing will resume October 30. The soundwall is between Grand River and Lake Lansing Roads, and along southbound US-127 just north of Grand River.
The construction began in April 2016 but delays with materials and production schedules kept pushing back the finish date.
There are a large number of panels needed to complete the wall and MDOT says, to ensure the quality of those panels, work plans were adjusted and crews were not on site until the majority of the panels had been constructed.
When the construction resumes, US-127 auxiliary lanes will be closed in each direction along the shoulder. However, two lanes will be open in each direction on US-127.
The construction of the soundwall should be completed by late December of this year.
