LANSING, Mich. — Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith is resigning from office.
He was charged by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel with 10 felonies last week, including embezzlement and tampering with evidence.
His resignation means a new prosecutor will be appointed by the panel of elected officials to finish this year of the term.
