A small airplane landed on a highway near Sparta on Thursday afternoon.
It landed in the area of 10 Mile Road on M-37 near the Sparta Miller Airport.
The Kent County Sheriff's Department says the pilot reported engine trouble before making the emergency landing on the highway and, fortunately, there were no cars in the area when it came down.
Two people were on board the small plane, a flight instructor and a trainee from West Michigan Flight School.
No injuries were reported.
