GRAND LEDGE, Mich. — A new sinkhole has made an appearance in Grand Ledge, this one located on the 7700 block of Oneida Road.
Some people are calling it a rabbit hole or an "asphalt ground hog hole" because of it's depth.
Fox 47 went to the location to see it for ourselves and although it doesn't look very wide, it goes on under the road like a tunnel.
It measures out to about ten inches wide and two feet deep, and the area around it doesn't look very stable.
A resident who lives in the neighborhood told us that Thursday was the first she has seen it.
We have reached out to the Michigan Department of Transportation and the County Road Commission.
The road commission has informed us that they are aware of the sinkhole and have plans to mark the area off Thursday night.
Road commission employees will be at the site on Friday to determine what to do.
