Silver Bells Forecast

Posted

Silver Bells in the City will be chilly, but thankfully not as windy as previous days.

The event takes place from 5-9 p.m. in downtown Lansing on Friday. Here is the schedule of events

The afternoon leading up to the event will be mostly sunny with highs in the low 40s. It will be breezy, but winds will weaken for the evening.

Around 5 p.m., temperatures will be in the upper 30s and then drop to the low 30s by the end of the celebration.

Winds will be lighter for the parade and tree lighting around 5-10 mph, meaning wind chill should be minimal, but don't underestimate how much windier it can be between the buildings when you're downtown. Be prepared for at least some breeze making it feel colder.

Skies will see increasing cloud cover, but no snow. Weather will be very similar for the Jackson Christmas Parade at 6 p.m.

Snowfall is likely to move in late after midnight. It will be a snowy Saturday and we could see several inches of snow across all of Mid-Michigan. Watch the updated forecast.
