UPDATE: Suspect arrested for firing gun outside bar early Monday

A 34-year-old East Lansing man is behind bars, pending arraignment on several charges, after police say he fired a gun outside a bar early Monday.

Officers were called to Reno's East around 1:20 a.m. for a man firing multiple gunshots into the air. By the time officers arrived, the suspect had left. Witnesses gave a description of the suspect and his car.

While investigating that incident, police received another call of shots fired in the 1600 block of Greencrest Avenue. Officers located a suspect matching the description of the man in the Reno's East incident and confirmed it was the same person. A loaded handgun and two fully loaded magazines were recovered.

East Lansing police are searching for the man who they say fired shots outside Reno's East Sports Bar early Monday morning.

The incident happened just before 1:30 a.m. outside Reno's East on Abbot Road.

Police tell us, the man fired four shots into the air in the parking lot. He had been in the bar earlier in the evening and went out to the parking lot and fired the shots.

No one was hurt. Police say no car or property was damaged.
