Shooting in Lansing Township: Man Hospitalized

The Lansing Township Police Department is investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital.

Lansing Township Police Chief Adam Kline says officers responded to the 200 block of Senate Drive for a shooting around 9:52 p.m. Monday.

A 27-year-old Lansing Township resident reported to police that a man tried to rob him with a semi-automatic handgun, Chief Kline said.

When the victim refused to turn over any property, the suspect fired several shots and the victim was hit once in the right knee during the altercation.

The victim was transported to Sparrow Hospital with a non-life threatening gun shot wound, Chief Kline said.

Lansing Township police, with the assistance of the Lansing Police Department attempted to track the suspect with K9 units but the track was not successful.

The suspect was said to have covered his face with a white t-shirt.
