Early in the morning on August 20, gunshots were heard in the vicinity of the Red Roof Inn in Eaton County.
A witness said it happened at 1:30 a.m., that he was a guest at the hotel and heard the gunshots.
Eaton County deputies investigated and found a person at the Denny's on Saginaw Hwy. with non-life threatening injuries. They say this person had come from the inn and at first refused to talk to the police or even get into an ambulance.
Police told FOX 47 that they believe the shooter and the victim know each other and that this is not a random act. They have not found a gun.
The witness thought he saw the shooter arguing with a woman from the parking lot. He described the suspect as "tweaking."
