The nation knows October 31 as Halloween, but in one Mid-Michigan office, it will be recognized as "Paul Cole Day."

Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth has announced that October 31 will be "Paul Cole Day" at the Ingham County Sheriff's Office.

"Paul Cole was a partner, friend and member of our law enforcement family."

Paul Cole began his career at the Ingham County Sheriff's Office. He was killed in a traffic accident on October 6, 1996 while on his way to a domestic violence call.

Starting this October 31, at 11:45 a.m. and every year, the sheriff's office will have a ceremony to raise a special Paul Cole flag to fly over the office.
