A man who lost control of his motorcycle and struck a curb in Ionia County has died, the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office reports.
On Aug. 16, deputies responded to the motorcycle crash on M-66 near Elmwood Drive. The sheriff’s office says moments before the crash, Central Dispatch was receiving calls about a motorcyclist being all over the road.
The 62-year-old man, from Ionia, was south bound on M-66 when he drifted off the right side of the road, struck a curb and was thrown from his 2012 Harley Davidson. The motorcycle stopped on top of him, the sheriff office reports.
The driver was taken to the hospital after the crash with serious injuries. He was not wearing a helmet, the office says.
