The Ingham County Sheriff, Gene Wriggelsworth and Ingham County Prosecutor Gretchen Whitmer held a press conference to announce sexual misconduct charges that are being filed against a teacher in a local school district.
David Paul Hovarter was arraigned and charged with CSC in the first degree. The 47-year-old was a teacher and girls cross country coach in the Leslie School District.
The alleged victim of the charges was a student.The initial report was filed in July of 2016.
The Sheriff and Prosecutor believe that Hovarter used his status in the school system to gain access to the alleged child victim.
