Severe weather causes icy roads in Mid-Michigan

Highways are looking clear this morning, after snow and sleet shut down traffic Monday.

Ingham County Road Department crews are out right now salting roads.

Our crews drove across Lansing, major roads like Cedar Street are still slick at this early hour.

And gusts up to 50 miles an hour have left more than 26,000 homes in the dark this morning across Michigan.

Consumers Energy reports outages are the worst in the southern part of the state, and that they're still working to restore power to homes this morning.

Consumers says they plan to have power back on to all homes by midnight tonight.

The Lansing Board of Water and Light is reporting no outages on its power map.
