Severe thunderstorms that moved through Michigan as part of a storm system that hit the Midwest have brought scattered flooding and power outages to the state.
WWJ-AM reports some flooding Wednesday morning was concentrated in the Southfield area in suburban Detroit, with police taking several calls from stranded drivers. Some other Detroit-area roadways saw flooding. High winds also moved across the state, knocking down tree limbs.
Utilities reported scattered power outages and are working to restore service. Outages were reported in parts of Oakland and Wayne counties.
In northern Michigan, winter storm advisories were in effect. The National Weather Service says parts of the Upper Peninsula could get 3 to 10 inches of snow.
