An investigation is underway to figure out what caused a house fire in Jackson County.
Fire crews got the call around 8 a.m. Sunday for a fire at a home in the 400 block of Napoleon Road in Leoni Township.
It took several different fire departments to put out the fire, which spread to a garage.
A witness tells FOX 47 that at least five cats were killed in the fire and the homeowners were able to get out safely.
As a result of the fire, part of the house will have to be torn down.
