It was a controversial change when Grand River Avenue became Cesar Chavez Avenue in Lansing's Old Town - and now several business owners say that change is costing them money, and customers.
One business owner says the city didn't involve the business community enough in the change, and that the transition hasn't been as smooth as she hoped.
Mayor Schor says the Old Town Commercial Association and business owners were part of the process and believes the name change was a good way to honor a human rights leader that spent time in Lansing.
