Senator Gary Peters hands out water in Flint

Posted

Flint, Mich. (WJRT) Michigan Democratic Senator Gary Peters was in Flint on Monday, handing out bottled water to people in need. He was joined by a group of national labor leaders who set up outside a church.

Peters called the turnout "overwhelming" because so many people had the day off for President's Day. He says he's working every day in Washington to help Flint recover. "What we have to do is we have to get the pipes fixed, we have to replace pipes, that's what I'm working on in Washington to get more resources to provide resources so that we can pull these pipes, put new ones in, you've got to have a functioning water system, it's absolutely unacceptable that we have to be in a situation where we have to deliver bottled water to people."
